1. Data Collection and Usage

LinguaLens is an AI-powered webpage translation tool. To provide its core functionality, the Extension interacts with the webpages you visit in the following ways:

• Text Extraction: When you actively trigger a translation via the context menu, the Extension temporarily reads the visible text content (DOM nodes) of the current webpage.
• Third-Party API Integration: The extracted text is sent directly to the Large Language Model (LLM) API (such as DeepSeek or OpenAI) that you have configured in the Extension's settings. We do not intermediate or proxy this data. The data exchange happens directly between your browser and the API provider you chose.

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, browsing history, form inputs, passwords, or any other sensitive information to our own servers.

2. Local Storage

The Extension uses your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save your personal configurations and improve performance:

• API Keys & Settings: Your API Keys, Base URLs, model preferences, and custom translation instructions are securely stored exclusively on your local device. We have no access to them.
• Translation Cache: To optimize API usage and provide a faster experience, the Extension locally caches translated text snippets bounded by domain names.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any of your data to outside parties. All text data processed for translation is transmitted strictly based on your configured API provider according to their respective privacy policies.

4. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date".
